“Energy
is the real substance behind the appearance of matter and forms.”
(Dr
Randolph Stone, founder of Polarity Therapy.) |
|
History:
Although little known in Australia, Polarity
Therapy is a comprehensive wellness system that is
steadily gaining well-earned recognition in many countries.
In Australia, Polarity Therapy
has had a sporadic history. For example, in the 1980s, a
Polarity Practitioner from the USA moved to Australia, in
the wake of the contentious collapse of a Polarity community
in California, and began to offer sessions and training
to Australians. More recently, a dedicated Australian practitioner
in South Australia has been providing training. Some years
ago, a British practitioner also began providing some Polarity
Therapy training, predominantly by distance learning. Two
people who did that training have been offering Polarity
Therapy classes in NSW since about 2007. Also since about
2007, another American has also been coming to Australia
to offer Polarity Therapy Practitioner training in Sydney.

Training
in Australia
through Energy
Therapies Institute is unique in that the programme
director, Dr Ranna-Lesley Lachlan (PhD, Board Certified Polarity
Practitioner, Registered Polarity Educator), is an Australian
who has lived and worked in the USA, has served on the Board
of the U.S. Polarity Therapy Association - as Ethics Liaison,
yet also remains firmly anchored in her Australian-ness.
With a dual base in both Australia and the USA, she is home
in Australia several times a year, so she is uniquely positioned
to steer the Institute's Polarity Therapy Practitioner training
in Australia (currently in the Blue Mountains, NSW).

Commitment to Australia: Reflecting the
founder's Australian origins, the Institute is committed
to providing consistent follow-through in the training of
Polarity Practitioners and Therapists in Australia, and
the development of public awareness of Polarity Therapy
in Australia. Ranna is firmly committed to the development
of Polarity Therapy as a distinct therapeutic method in
its own right in Australia (and gobally) rather than dilution
of Polarity Therapy as part of other modalities.
Professional
Eligibility: Students and practitioners
training at ETI can join the professional organization serving
the Australian alternative health community: the International
Institute of Complementary Therapies - IICT,
which also provides practitioner liability insurance - including student insurance. IICT Australia provides a
network of supportive and helpful practitioners in Australia.

NOTE
about "APTA":
To dispel any confusion
regarding the term "APTA", the founder of ETI has had a long professional history with the APTA
in the U.S.A., a non-profit organization founded in
the USA in 1984 for the furtherment of Polarity Therapy.
The founder of
ETI is listed at the website of the original APTA in the USA.
So-called "APTA Australia" is entirely different and has no history with APTA USA. Anyone in Australia who is interested in Polarity Therapy should conduct their own due diligence and their own cautious
inquiries. To the best of our knowledge and acording to cross-referenced online information, the so-called "APTA Australia" is an arm of a private for-profit entity which itself is associated with a for-profit entity in the U.K. Additionally,
and adding to the public confusion in Australia, despite the fact that
the American Polarity Therapy Association has always used the acronym APTA for 40+ years, the Australian for-profit entity began to use that same "APTA" acronym
since approximately 2012. In any other setting this would be called "dilution causing market place confusion" and the older entity typically has rights that cannot be undermined or diluted by the newer entity that is creating that confusion. |
